COVID Parent/Guardian Hotline

Please utilize the new CCSD COVID-19 Parent/Guardian hotline to report your student's positive COVID test result or your child's recent exposure to a COVID positive individual.   The CCSD COVID-19 Parent/Guardian Hotline is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and can be reached by calling 702-799-4322. Free COVID -19 testing options at Southern Nevada Health District and vaccination resources are available at Southern Nevada Health District Vaccines.

Weekly Reminders

  • Charge your computers at home and bring them back and forth from home to school daily. This is a tool needed for education everyday in all grades. (No personal devices will be used on campus at this time.)

  • Face masks are required by all students and staff upon entering school.

  • Students enter the building at 9:00 AM and the Tardy bell rings at 9:10 and the dismissal bell will ring at 3:21. Please know we will stagger the dismissal by a few minutes so large groups do not go all at one time (see website for more information)

  • Support health and safety initiatives as Parents/Guardians must utilize the Parent and Guardian Guidance Checking Your Student Before Leaving Home to check for symptoms/conditions prior to sending the student to school. If a student shows any symptoms/conditions, keep the student at home and contact your medical provider for guidance.

SOT Election and Nominations

As part of the reorganization of the Clark County School District, Glen Taylor Elementary has a School Organizational Team (SOT) that includes 4 parents and guardians so we can hear from the parent perspective. What is the role of the School Organizational Team? ● Provide input on the school performance plan and budget. ● Provide continued advice to the principal in carrying out the school plan. ● Assist with the selection of the next principal when there is a vacancy.

There were two parents who added their nominations and an election was not necessary.  We are hoping to fill the other 2 parent spots. We would like to welcome Angela Arriola and Karlene Johnston to our SOT for the 21-22 school year. If you are still interested and would like to be considered to be on the SOT committee please fill out the following SOT nomination form to determine if an election will be necessary for the remaining 2 positions by Friday, September 24th.

Thank you Wyatt - Eagle Scout Project

Mrs. Roqueni's nephew, Wyatt, chose our school garden as his Eagle Scout Project. Wyatt and his crew removed all of the rotten wood on the garden beds and replaced it with non-toxic pressure-treated weather resistant wood. Additionally, the group constructed two new park benches out of Redwood and affixed them to the ground.

All of the work for the project from planning, securing funds for materials purchased, organizing scouts to help and overseeing completion was done by Wyatt.

Thank you so much for helping to make Glen Taylor beautiful. Our whole community is truly appreciative of your kindness, dedication, and hard work!

Parking Lot Closed and Cross Walk

We want to ensure a safe dismissal for all students. Please remember that the parking lot is closed from 2:45 p.m.-3:30 p.m. If you park in the side lot near the Kiss and Go, you will be unable to leave the lot until all buses have departed. Please review the map attached/visual below.

Please ensure while parked in the Kiss and Go you do not leave your car unattended. We recommend that parents or primary students in 1st and 2nd grade park on Siena Heights and walk up to the gate to meet their child.

Please remind your child to use the crosswalk at all times.

We appreciate your cooperation as the safety of students is our highest priority.
